だるま

An egg silhouetted against the window
As red as the big circle outside
Covered in endless seconds and dust
Only loneliness stands by its side

Silent figurine, to where would you run?
When you can’t even go to sleep
Eyes wide open against your own will
Time atrophying body but not dreams

Peaceful warrior, during meditation
Did you see this coming irony?
I was the one that gave you your eyes
But you were the one that made me see
Putting an end in this long karma
By giving me a kiss in my eyelids.

Before and after

                                                               You + Me = We - cartolina e tinta

I was lost before you came
Before you came I wasn’t me
But if I was, then I don’t know
Maybe I just couldn’t see
See what was already there
Waiting for me somehow, somewhere
Waiting for me to let it be
Waiting for me to set it free

I got lost after you came
After you came I’m not myself
But if I am I can’t compare
Maybe I am just somebody else
Somebody that was already there
Waiting for someone else to care
Waiting to just feel complete
To finally make my heart beat.

S(e)oulless

This city screams steel and concrete
Faceless beings pretend not to hear
The paths, the lines, the way to go have already been set
There is no need to think ahead,
To think outside,
To look behind…
There are no homeless dogs on the streets.
Masked beings leave their houses powered by caffeine.
Alienation comes in the form of a screen.
This city screams loudly
In a language I can’t even speak.

Atlas

Under the subway bridge
A boy firmly waits
Leaning on the cold concrete
It's such a giant weight

Above, the subway bridges
Aside, the river slowly flows
Inside some faces come
While some faces go

The bridge shakes with the train
The river sings as it rolls
The boy silently sustains
The boy, himself a pole

The bridge on the boy's shoulder
A heavy cross, a burden
Together such an odd couple
The bridge and the boy that cuddle.

Maybe

You may beware,
You may bethink:

It may behave,
It may be great;

It may be low,
It may betray,

It may bewilder,
You may bewail.

Maybe below
You may behold,

Maybe beyond
It may be known

Maybe beloved,
It may be love: it may bewitch,
It may be not: you may be hurt.

Something isn't

There is something in between us
Something don’t let us be
It’s like an unwalkable distance
So far our eyes can’t even see

There is something in between us
Impeding us from communication
There’s something blocking this relation
As if different languages is what we speak

There is something in between us
As thin as air, invisible and cold
It keeps us apart as we grow old
And we can’t figure out what it is

There is something in between us
And I bet is called “silence”
It’s the screams of our anxiety
It is so loud we can't even hear.

Taxi cab

"Somewhere, on the other side of the world, is a person perfect for you. It's almost certain you're never gonna meet but sometimes destiny steps in and gives you a glimpse of what you'll be missing."
A. G. V.

"Coincidence makes sense
Only with you
You don't have to speak
I feel
Jóga, Björk

You were there already
Somewhere waiting to meet me
Somewhere waiting to say hi
Somewhere waiting to let it be
You were there already
All those smiles I coudn't see
All that existence I didn't know
All those words I couldn't hear
You were there already
Living your years till our hours
Living your life till our dream
Living your stories till we had ours
You were there already
Somewhere on the other side of sea
All those poems I didn't wrote
Living, just living, waiting for it!

Olhos

I don't usually write in English because it is hard for me, but I just noticed that the US is the second leading country from where comes the access to my blog. I don't have an originaly written English poem right now, but I thought it would be nice if, at least, I translated the last one^^

Almond eyes
Closed as little clefts
Cracks through which
Oriental sunbeams
Escape your soul
And enter into mine
Eyes that when smile
Become even sunnier
And melt the snow of this cold land
Eyes that close embarrassed
When hearing compliments
From my foreign language
Eyes that keep so many
Distant mysteries
Encrypted secrets
Eyes that bewitch me,
These almond-shaped eyes.

Paper box

Put me inside your paper box
And shake me up until
My body separate from my soul.
Then let me be free
To see this world from above (and beyond),
Let my eyes grow into full moons
From planets with a thousand rings,
So you can watch some alien aurora borealis,
As if they were giant TV screens.
Let's wait until the time slow down
And the night fall on our heads
So I can shine all the iridescent colors
And we can be white even in the dark.
